Investments Committee Mentorship Program

For interested new members, an eight-week Mentorship Program is held beginning on the third Tuesday of every semester. Through the completion of this program, students learn the basics of investing in the stock market, researching companies, and managing a portfolio. After successfully completing the entry program, new members will join the committee to begin researching companies and pitching ideas. New members typically enter the committee as analysts who cover current holdings in the portfolio and research new ideas for investment. Analysts present their ideas to the committee and discuss each option before voting to buy.

Jordan Cheney, Former Chief Executive Officer

“I love the allocations committee because it introduces me to new opportunities while allowing me to make an impact on campus and in the Atlanta community. As organizations apply for funding I witness the incredible passions and resulting work of groups from extensively varying areas of the student body and become a part of that work though the funding GTSF allocates to these amazing organizations. I am able to work directly with a handful of the clubs we fund, allowing me to fully appreciate the work they do and what drives their mission, in addition to allowing me to practice essential teamwork, planning, and written and interpersonal communication skills.”
